The research of our group focuses on statistical physics. Currently, the main emphasis is on nonequilibrium statistical physics. We contribute to the development of a theoretical foundation for this theory, but also pay attention to applications, which can e.g. be found in biological systems. Recently, we have worked on fluctuation theorems (both for classical and quantum systems), Brownian motors and refrigerators, and their applications in biophysics. Besides this,we have done research on synchronization, paradoxical games, dynamics of knotted polymers and critical models on scale free networks.
